Hampshire Shakespeare Company is seeking an associate producer for the 2016 summer season of “Shakespeare Under the Stars,” which runs from mid-May to mid-August. The associate producer will assist as needed for the first two mainstage productions, with the goal of gaining the experience and skills necessary to serve as the primary producer for the Young Company program at the season’s close. Candidates should have reliable transportation, leadership experience, and enjoy working with young people under the age of 18. The ideal candidate will be excited to grow and develop with a small local theater committed to providing valuable experiences for those beginning their careers.
On any given day you might
Manage trafficking and organization of production assets
Interface with all other participants on interactive teams on a daily and weekly basis
Support day-to-day communications with internal team (coordinates meetings, notes, status reports, task lists, etc.)
Participate in client meetings with Producers
Manage project timelines and budgets
The ideal person
Is eager to learn and detail oriented
Has strong writing skills
Is familiar with the state of the Web from a business and aesthetic perspective
Experience producing interactive projects, or directly related experience
Strong communication and organization skills
An understanding of the mix/balance of business, creative, and technical work
Proficiency with MS Office software, including MS Project
Maintains professionalism and positive attitude when working in high-stress situations
Proficient with timeline and resource management
Self starter, aggressive, and can work well with others
