KRCB North Bay Public Media, a Sonoma County-based (Rohnert Park) public television station, seeks a Master Control Operator. Duties include recording and quality assurance checking of satellite video feeds, broadcast station operations, on-air switching of programs, record keeping, and maintenance of station logs. Ensure a quality on air presentation for all program streams. Operate control room boards and monitor programming as needed. Log all required transmitter readings. Produce all commercial dubs as well as supervise transmission of station. Maintain station log, run pre-taped and live programming, respond to timing changed at a moments notice. Take accurate transmitter readings, record and log feeds for news and edit in commercials for pre-corded shows.

This entry-level position requires a detail-oriented, conscientious individual who is highly organized and self-directed. In addition to computer skills, the successful candidate must be available to work weekends, evenings, and early morning shifts, sometimes on short notice. Applicant must be versatile and capable of learning specialized software applications and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment. Must have great attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Master Control Operator are responsible for monitoring the quality and accuracy of the on-air product, ensuring the transmission meets government regulations, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and preparing programming for playout Previous experience as a Master Control Operator is preferred. Must be able to work various shifts as needed.
