My friends and I are currently hard at work on our latest short film. Our last effort, Bird Watching Man, notably won first prize at the Ridgewood Off-Kilter film festival. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvdkwTEMxew&t=610s This one is in the same vein, but a little more ambitious. We've already started shooting, but we're still casting for a few roles. We're not super interested in a particular look or style or anything, just an attitude that works with the project. ROLES: Jungle Gym– a guy that has kind of found Zen through working out on playgrounds. There's more to the character than that, of course, but what we're mostly looking for is an adult who can sincerely mess around on a playground and have fun, you know? Not a ton of dialogue. There will be probably three to four shoot days– probably a few hours in the evening– for this role. Some indoor scenes in a Bushwick house and at least one jungle gym shoot. Mary Hinton– Beleaguered wife of an insane mathematician. Decent amount of dialogue. One shoot day, outdoors, probably in Prospect Park, sometime this spring. Others– there's a bunch of other smaller roles, and we're not looking for any specific attributes. If this project sounds interesting, let us know, we'd love to get you involved somehow. We'll need audience members for a theater scene, an impudent adult child, and a few other different kinds of folks. Reach out and we can send you something to read for us! SHOOTING: Largely in Bushwick, but a few other scenes elsewhere. Trying to get fired back up by March at the latest, and we're trying to be done by the summer. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED: Just send me an email on here! Lmk if you're interested in a particular role or anything. I can answer any questions you might have. After that, we might ask you to send us a short audition video, just reading a few lines. FINALLY: We sadly don't have any money to pay. We had a modest budget, all of which went to microphones and props. But we think the movie will be pretty good– the music alone is pretty sick– and even if it isn't, it should be a lot of fun. Best, Ben
