I'm directing an independent short film and am looking for a costume designer / fashion designer / maker who can actually sew and construct garments, not just source clothes. The aesthetic: Avant-garde, dark, contemporary. Think Yeezy × Balenciaga × 1500s Elizabethan silhouettes. Oversized forms, unusual proportions, historical echoes reinterpreted in a brutal, contemporary way. This is not period-accurate costuming, it's conceptual costume design for film. What I'm looking for: -Strong sewing and garment construction skills -Comfort working experimentally (non-traditional shapes, materials, silhouettes) -Interest in dark, high-concept fashion Paid (amount depends on experience, scope, materials) Los Angeles area preferred (or nearby) To respond: Please send: -A short intro -Photos or links to work you've made (especially sewn or constructed pieces) -Any relevant experience -If you're a fashion student, experimental designer, or costume maker looking to do something unusual, this is for you.
