Looking for a key role in a microbudget feature film that will be shooting between June 15th & August 8th. Your role will require only 5 evenings on set, from 6pm to 11pm. We can work with your calendar availability. The pay is $100 cash per shoot, plus travel expenses (gas money or subway/NJ Transit). Will be paid same rate if more shooting days are needed. MUST be an LGBTQ+ ally, since the film is about a transgender chosen family who gathers for dinner on the one-year anniversary of a close friend Sky who took their own life. The role we are casting is Sky's dad, who shows up with his wife Barb for dessert. Just desserts. While you must be a kind human being who accepts LGBTQ+ people, your character will be the opposite: RICK (40s) -- smart with the capacity for compassion, but chooses to follow Barb's unkind lead. He really wants people to like him, but he would rather be in Barb's good graces. Before he met Barb, Rick was openly queer, but he now considers it a "mistake" that Barb helped him correct. In the scene, the group of four trans friends confront Rick and Barb about Sky's death. It is the climax of the film, 25 pages of the 101 page script. Schedule is flexible. Must be able to travel to and from set in Boonton, NJ -- travel expenses like train/bus fare or gas money will be reimbursed (but not car services). Closest train station to set is Denville, and there are two NJ Transit lines that go there. Please e-mail headshot, resume, and any clips you have. Brand new actors welcome, too! We will send you the script as well as a 4K HD link to a test scene we shot a month ago. We are going into production next week, but we will schedule your scenes for late June/July.
