WANTED: Amateur Crocheters Who Create Unintentional Masterpieces! Are you a dedicated crocheter whose final product looks absolutely nothing like the pattern? We are casting for the pilot episode of a brand-new web competition where we celebrate the magnificent chaos of making lumpy, misshapen, but deeply loved creations! You will face the ultimate time crunch challenge: replicating a complex amigurumi design, judged on effort, structural integrity, and—most importantly—how funny the mistakes are. If your projects frequently end up as a UFO (Unfinished Object) or an absolute TOAD (Trashed Object Abandoned in Disgust), we want to hear from you! WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Skill Level: Amateur, Beginner, or Enthusiastically Over-Ambitious. You should be proficient enough to start a project, but reliably mess up the increases, decreases, or stuffing. Personality: Must be genuinely outgoing, hilarious, and comfortable having your "Yarn Barf" critiqued by a panel of celebrity judges. Availability: Must be available for a single, full-day shoot in the San Fernando Valley in December. Once picked, we will give you exact date and location. Goal: To compete for the Golden Hook Trophy and the right to walk away without the ultimate penalty! COMPENSATION & PERKS This is a passion project, and while we are not offering a professional day rate, we guarantee a great experience: ✅ The Golden Hook Trophy for the winner! ✅ Guaranteed Participation Gift: Every contestant receives a premium, high-quality Ergonomic Crochet Hook Set, just for stepping up to the challenge. ✅ Full Expense Coverage: We will reimburse all travel/gas expenses and provide a full meal and snacks on set. ✅ Exposure: Receive high-resolution video clips of your segment to share on your own social media. HOW TO APPLY (Show Us Your Worst!) When replying, please email with the subject line: CROCHET SHOW CASTING. In your email, please include: Your name, age, and phone number. A brief, funny story about the moment you realized your project was a complete Frog (had to be ripped out). REQUIRED: Attach a couple of photos of your worst amigurumi crochet projects you have ever made! (The lumper and more unrecognizable it is, the better.) We look forward to hearing from you! Let the stitches fall where they may.
