Director / DP – Cinematic Sizzle Reel (LA) Production Type: Scripted Sizzle Reel / Proof of Concept Union Status: Non-Union Location: Los Angeles, CA Shoot Dates: TBD (1–2 days) Rate: $3,000 flat (Director/DP + Edit) Final Length: ~3 minutes --- PROJECT DETAILS We are producing a scripted, cinematic sizzle reel for a premium doc-comedy reality concept. The script is fully written and locked. This project is performance-driven, intimate, and story-forward, designed as a network-facing proof-of-concept. This is not a commercial, branded video, or influencer content. --- POSITION OVERVIEW Seeking a Director / DP hybrid to own creative execution from shoot through edit. You should be comfortable directing performance, shooting cinematic visuals, and working efficiently with a lean setup. --- LOOK & TONE Premium unscripted / doc-comedy Netflix-style pacing and intimacy Strong close-ups, intentional framing Natural, grounded performances Cinematic but not glossy or commercial --- RESPONSIBILITIES Direct on-camera performance and pacing Serve as Director of Photography Provide or source camera and basic lighting package appropriate for a cinematic sizzle shoot Ensure clean, professional audio capture (self-operated or via minimal sound support) Shoot 1–2 days in Los Angeles Edit a polished ~3-minute sizzle reel Light sound design and licensed music integration Comfortable handling basic lean-production needs (simple releases, music approach, and clear deliverables) --- QUALIFICATIONS Los Angeles-based Experience with sizzles, pilots, proof-of-concepts, or short narrative work Strong reel demonstrating storytelling, tone, and performance direction Comfortable directing dialogue and natural performances Experience with cinema cameras (FX3, FX6, C70, RED Komodo, BMPCC 6K, etc.) --- SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Please include: Link to your reel or portfolio At least one example of sizzle, pilot, or narrative work Confirmation of availability for 1–2 shoot days Brief note on your approach to directing performance, audio, and gear on lean shoots Make sure include your number i can text --- DELIVERABLES Final ~3-minute sizzle reel 4K master + 1080p delivery Up to 3 rounds of reasonable revisions --- COMPENSATION $3,000 flat rate, inclusive of: Directing Cinematography Editing --- NOTES This project is intentionally lean. We are prioritizing tone, storytelling, performance, and sound quality over crew size or production scale. The script is complete, and the goal is a cinematic, pitch-ready sizzle.
