The Hero's Quest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses Dungeons & Dragons to help elementary-aged students growing up in a screen-heavy world develop social skills and emotional regulation. We have already shot a substantial amount of footage and are looking for a video editor to help us create a 60-second promotional video for our website. Our vice president is a 20-year veteran of the film industry, with extensive experience in short-form promotional content and commercials. He will serve as post producer and creative director on the project, so you will have a clear creative partner, organized feedback, and someone who speaks the language of post-production. The position is remote, and the timeline is flexible. We would like to complete the piece as promptly as possible, but we understand that freelance artists often need to balance multiple projects. We are completely open to a slower collaboration if that is the best fit. The script is already written and music is being sourced and selected next. The Hero's Quest has an incredible mission and is continuing to grow as we expand into new schools. At this stage, however, we are not in a position to offer financial compensation for this project. We are hoping to connect with a fellow Dungeons & Dragons nerd who understands the social power of the game and the difference it can make in a young person's life. We currently have: * Video footage from our summer camp * Photos from our after-school programs * Additional footage planned from a staged game in a visually interesting location For the staged material, we are imagining something with a little more attitude: slow motion, swish pans, dramatic dice rolls, and the energy of the Dungeons & Dragons scenes with Eddie Munson in *Stranger Things* Season 4. The final video is intended primarily for parents. It should quickly explain what the program is, what students are doing at the table, and how the experience helps them develop real-world skills. This is not intended to be a visual-effects-heavy project. Most of the graphics will be simple title cards that can be built directly inside the editing software. That said, some After Effects knowledge (or the ability to add a little visual magic) would certainly be appreciated. If this sounds like a project you would enjoy, reach out and say hello. Please include: * A link to your reel or examples of your work * Your preferred editing software, such as Premiere Pro, Avid, etc) We are in-process of revamping our website but you can see the current version here: https://jointheherosquest.com/
