FILM / PHOTO SOUNDSTAGE — LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS Established film / photo studio in Long Island City is looking for an experienced Studio Equipment Assistant for freelance/project-based work. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with previous hands-on experience working with film / photo production equipment who understands how a professional soundstage operates. THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL: * Have extensive knowledge of film, photo and production equipment * Be experienced with the equipment and production needs of a professional soundstage * Be a strong troubleshooter who can identify problems and find practical solutions * Be mature, reliable, responsible and organized * Be able to work independently and anticipate what a production may need * Help ensure that equipment is organized, available, set up and production-ready * Understand the importance of customer service and client care * Be comfortable working directly with producers, directors, crew, vendors and clients * Be calm, resourceful and professional when unexpected issues arise * Have a professional, personable and approachable demeanor * Take pride in representing the studio well and providing a positive experience for clients EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Candidates must have previous professional experience in a film, television, commercial, photo studio, rental house, soundstage or comparable production environment. This position is best suited to someone who already knows production equipment and the demands of a working stage and is looking for a hands-on role rather than a management position. LOCATION Our studio is in Long Island City, Queens. Preference will be given to candidates who live in or near Long Island City, Astoria, Sunnyside, Woodside or Greenpoint.
