Video Editor (Premiere Pro) — Short-Form Storytelling Pay: $25–$30 CAD/hour (DOE) Type: Full-time Hours: 10am - 6pm, Monday - Friday. Location: Vancouver, BC (Main & 5th preferred on-site; hybrid possible) Start: ASAP About Us We're Kismet Design—a small, crafty studio making mid-century-inspired furniture and lighting… and the content that tells those stories. You'll collaborate with Ivan (@kismet_design) and Konstantin (creative direction for Fortune 500 companies & 100k+ Content creators ) to create videos people actually finish. The Role You'll edit short-form (Reels/TikTok/Shorts), plus cinematic storytelling and interview/VO pieces. If you care about rhythm, pacing, clean organization, and color that feels natural—not gimmicky—you'll fit right in. What You'll Do Build tight, engaging narratives from interviews + b-roll. Cut with great timing and rhythm; design shot sequences that escalate interest. Perform color correction & grading for a premium, true-to-life look. Clean up audio (dialogue edits, noise reduction, EQ/compression in Adobe Audition). Add tasteful graphics & typography (lower-thirds, captions, supers; smart font choices). Keep projects organized (folder structure, naming, proxies, versioning). Deliver platform-ready exports (ratios, captions, data rates). What You Bring (Skills & Traits) Premiere Pro: fast, fluent, organized. Strong grasp of visual storytelling/cinematography and shot variety. Meticulous and patient: you comb footage and pick with intent. Engagement intuition: you know why a beat lands (or doesn't). Advanced color sense without overcooking it. Adobe Audition for VO cleanup and polish. Ability to focus for long stretches and follow a clear system. Nice-to-Haves: After Effects / motion graphics. Videography experience; comfort with cameras, lenses, focal lengths. Your own production kit (share your gear list if you have one). Concepting/scriptwriting—huge plus. Great ideas win. Growth Path Videographer/Editor: pick up shooting days if you've got the chops. Creative Director: own visual language, sets, and mentor other editors. Clarity over chaos: structured briefs, references, decisive direction. Small team, big upside: your work ships, gets seen, and matters. Compensation & Schedule $25–$30 CAD/hour to start, based on experience and a small paid test. Long Term - earn up to $30-40 per hour after you've been with us for at least 1 year and meet/exceed expectations. Part-time to start; expand as we scale. On-site preferred; hybrid considered.
