Micro-Budget, Festival-Aimed Fantasy Short - Seeking PAs & Assistant Director Hi everyone, I'm currently filling a few key positions for an upcoming fantasy short film that I'm incredibly excited to bring to life. This is a micro-budget project with a lot of heart, and we already have a small, passionate team in place. As we head into the final stretch before shooting, we're looking to add a couple more creative collaborators to help round out the crew. This is an ambitious project on a tight timeline, as we're preparing for Fantasia International Film Festival submission in late March. The film involves building two distinct environments: • A stylized, atmospheric fantasy headquarters inspired by Blade Runner tones • A disheveled, grounded home interior using practical effects If you have some downtime over the next week and want to jump into something creatively rich, we'd love to connect. Our space is limited, so we're hoping to find 1–2 great fits to join us. Immediate need: We have a camera / SFX / tech rehearsal on Sunday, Dec 21, and one of our PAs had an emergency. We are also looking to see if there's a PA and an Assistant Director available to help keep things running smoothly on this ambitious shoot. Please note: this is a micro-budget film, and many of us are volunteering our time to make it happen. If the compensation isn't the right fit, totally understood. Otherwise, we'd love to hear from you. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Small stipend ($100–$200) or volunteer I've typically handled pacing and logistics myself on past projects with support from my producer, but with more moving pieces on this shoot, I'm looking for an AD to help keep the day organized and running smoothly. I'm open to a range of experience levels — including someone looking to earn their first AD credit on a micro-budget set. Looking for someone who: • Is calm, clear, and communicative • Helps maintain momentum throughout the day • Is comfortable working with a small crew and limited resources • Enjoys supporting a director directly on a focused, easygoing set • Has a car (we have two location changes) • Bonus: willing to help as a scripty (not required) PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS Volunteer or small gas stipend ($25/day) Seeking PAs to assist across art department, sound, and SFX makeup. This is a great opportunity for filmmakers looking for hands-on set experience and networking on a festival-aimed project. Meals + IMDb credit provided. TO APPLY Please send: • Your name + the role you're applying for • Resume / portfolio / relevant links • Your rate (or confirmation of volunteer availability) • Availability for late December (dates range: Dec 21, 27–30) • Confirmation that you're LA-local Thanks so much, and looking forward to connecting with some great collaborators.
