Los Angeles based guitar player wanted for kids music brand "The BeatBuds". Are you a guitar player who can sing? This can be one of the most fun and rewarding gigs you'll ever have if you're the right personality and fit, but you have to love kids! -And, it won't interfere with your other musical endeavors. You will need your own acoustic electric guitar (no amp needed). This should be viewed as part time work. These are "pick-up gigs" that we send you out on with one other musician to perform as a two-piece band (your "team"), and we have several teams working daily. As The BeatBuds brand continues to grow, it's time for us to add a new team to our team. The gigs happen during the day because kids events just don't happen at night, so you'll have your evenings free to continue to pursue your other musical endeavors. Gigs happen weekdays AND weekends so all you need to do is provide your availability and we will offer you any available gigs after a short PAID training process. We're looking for: • people between 18-35 years old, who play their instrument well. • must be comfortable around kids of all ages, including babies under 1 year old, and their parents. • must have reliable transportation and a phone charger in their car, with a smart phone that supports a google calendar app for scheduling their gigs. • must be able to find their inner child and relate to kids on their level, and put ego aside. Musicians who are too cool for school don't end up cutting it for this job. We've brought on more than 20 people in our company and some of the best musicians were some of the worst BeatBuds because they were unable to leave their egos at the door and have fun with kids. Many of the people who have worked out the best have a musical theater background, or a music education background, or have worked as a camp counselor or in schools, or have kids in their family which makes them comfortable around small children. • must commit to the availability you have provided to us. We base our bookings off of the availability provided to us by our team members and we expect that you'll honor the gigs that we've booked you on. You must be on time, look presentable, be respectful of the client, and be excited to perform with energy and enthusiasm. Not showing up for a gig is unacceptable and as a result we will not use your services again. We can try to work around illnesses and emergencies, but we do expect you to commit to all gigs within the availability you have provided. ***AVAILABILITY: Performances happen 7 days a week, multiple times a day, but almost never after dark since the audience is children who go to bed early. We need someone with a flexible schedule to be able to take full advantage of the gig opportunities throughout the week. ***PAYMENT: This is a PAID gig and you are paid per event. You'll be coming on as a 1099, independent contractor. There are opportunities for multiple shows each day. Some team members have 3 gigs in a single day each week. More financial details will be discussed as we go through the process when you contact me, because pay structure varies based on several factors (location, type of gig, weekend vs weekday, set length, your role within your team, etc etc etc.), so it's much more efficient to discuss on a call. As The BeatBuds brand grows, this has become more of a "casting" rather than an audition or an open call to any musician, like it has been in the past. Now that there is an animated TV show on Nickelodeon that is associated with the brand, the musicians we bring on for the live performances need to fit the role in terms of look and personality to somewhat match what the kids are seeing on the screen. So in addition to being able to play their instrument proficiently, the people we bring on to our team have to fit the mold of the animated characters on the TV show as well.
