I bought this setup to transfer my family's Hi8 tapes to digital, and I made the same mistake a lot of people do—I bought the camcorder first, only to find out I still needed the AC power adapter, the right cables, and a USB capture device before I could transfer anything. Don't make the same mistake I did. A lot of sellers call their listings a "transfer bundle," but it's really just the camcorder. I promise you this is an actual transfer bundle with everything you need to start transferring your tapes right out of the box. Included: Samsung SC-L901 Hi8 camcorder, AC power adapter, Battery, RCA A/V cable, S-Video cable (for the best picture quality the camera can produce), USB video capture device with both USB-A and USB-C The camera and capture device both support S-Video, so you can get the best quality transfer possible from your Hi8 tapes. The capture device works with both Mac and Windows. On my Mac, I plugged everything in, opened QuickTime Player, selected "New Movie Recording," chose the capture device, and I was transferring tapes in about 15 minutes. No special drivers or complicated setup. Check the photos—I've included pictures showing the camera working and actual video being transferred, so you know exactly what you're getting. I'm really just trying to recover most of what I spent putting this together. Hopefully it saves someone else from buying a camcorder, getting excited to transfer their tapes, and then realizing they're still missing three more pieces before they can even get started.
