National Park Planner (npplan.com), the largest National Park review website ever created by a private citizen (meaning no affiliation with the National Park Service or the federal government) seeks an attractive and charismatic host for National Park Fun Facts videos. These are "talking head" videos shot in a studio using a teleprompter. Videos range from 5 to 15 minutes in length and should take no more than an hour to shoot. To see a sample of a National Park Planner video, go to https://vimeo.com/1219444326 This is a longer park review, but the Fun Facts videos will be similar. To see the type of content of a Fun Fact video, visit https://npplan.com and scroll down to the Park Fun Facts section. These were written for the website only, but they will be the basis for the first three Fun Facts videos. REQUIRED SKILLS • Physically fit, attractive, and charismatic (the videos discuss hiking, biking, and paddling, so look the part) • Able to bring life and natural enthusiasm to scripts read from a teleprompter • Able to work when needed in Roswell, Georgia PAY (CONTRACT BASIS) • $100 per video. We can probably shoot up to ten videos in a long day, so that could be $1000 for a day's work, and any one video should not take more than 2 hours, so that should $50/hour at a minium. Workload can easily top 200 videos, though this will take a while. Keep in mind that video hosting is not a full-time job, and this work can be scheduled around other jobs or classes you may have. Nights and weekend work is fine. This could lead to additional or full-time work depending on your knowledge of Adobe software and the ability to travel. However, this it not a requirement for the Video Host job. TO APPLY 1) Create an audition video of yourself narrating the script below. Place this on a video platform and provide a link (in the application form). Be sure the link is public, not private. You do not have to memorize the script. You can read from a piece of paper, but make it as natural sounding as possible. 2) Fill out the application at https://npplan.com/jobs ------------------------------------------ SCRIPT Hi, I'm [Your Name] with National Park Planner, and I'm hear to tell four things I learned at Canaveral National Seashore in Florida. First off, can you believe that Canaveral National Seashore has not one, but two nude beaches! Yes, you heard that right. Nude beaches at a National Park! The National Park Service follows state and county laws in regards to nudity since there is no federal law addressing the subject, and both nude beaches were established before Canaveral National Seashore was created in 1975. At Apollo Beach, which is at the northern end of the park in Volusia County, nudity is legal, and an agreement was made between the nudists and the National Park Service to keep suits on until 150 yards south of the last parking area---though not everyone follows the rules. Playalinda Beach at the southern end of the park is in Brevard County, and nudity was legal there until anti-nudity laws were enacted in 1995. While some arrests were made sporadically in the 1990s, the sheriff made it clear that he and his men had better things to do than arrest naked people. The second thing I learned about Canaveral National Seashore is that Winter, the dolphin in the movie Dolphin Tale that lost its tail after getting entangled in a crab trap line, was not found washed up on the beach by a young boy as depicted in the movie. In reality, Winter was found by a fisherman within the boundaries of Canaveral National Seashore in Mosquito Lagoon about 100 yards offshore and rescued by professionals.
