"Planet Zebith" is a bonkers, over-the-top comedy short film about a man named Manish who smokes so much weed he can no longer get high. His friend Lance takes him on a journey that leads them to a crashed alien space shuttle where they find the answers they need. I'm looking for someone who is able to take the character to serious emotional places in spite of the silly situation. That irony is the engine of my comedic style, think Talladega Nights or Anchorman. Both dramatic and comedic experience are welcome, though there may be some light physical comedy (we currently have a scene where Lance and Manish wrestle over edibles in a kiddie pool). The character Manish is based on my friend Surya. Applicants of all races are welcome to apply to the role. Though the character is written as Indian American, there isn't anything specific besides the name, which can be easily changed. We will be shooting 09/12-09/13 in Los Angeles and Vasquez rocks, transportation is required, we are offering a day rate of $150 for the two days. This is a non-union production.
