I am Sylvie the founder and owner of The West Village Cat Sitter and Manhattan Kitties LLC, The Cat Sitter Referral Agency To Trust! I refer the services of cat sitters to my existing clients. There are no week shifts and weekend shifts, or once every other day contracts. All sitters are asked to do AM and PM visits. YOU NEED TO BE AVAILABLE ON MAJOR HOLIDAYS AND SUMMER TIME. Our busiest time is summer, Thanksgiving week and year-end holidays (approx 12/20-1/6). I have a growing list of wonderful clients... I refer the services of a few trusted cat sitters in the city, clients trust me to find them a great match for their cuties. So I am obviously very selective :) I'm looking for ONE OR TWO EXCEPTIONAL conscientious, high energy, great spirited individuals, VERY organized, loving and mature CAT SITTERS whose services I can refer. If you are only going to be in NYC for a few months, you will not be a good candidate, it takes a little time to vet the sitters properly so that the clients are comfortable with their service. At first the sitter will be asked to help out as a backup. We need to make sure she/he and the company work well together. Some of the criteria required: * empathy and compassion for cats aka purries (understanding they are missing their purrents and may be upset or sad at times) * empathy and compassion for purrents (understanding their cats are their children and they worry when away) * IMPORTANT! Sitter should have another source of income - it is a position that can grow but starts SLOW (I want to make sure the sitters are a good match for the clients and reflect the company's standards and of course I want to make sure we work well together - TEAM spirit here!) * is very mature and EXTREMELY RESPONSIBLE - we are not just feeding the cats we are responsible for their well being and also looking after clients homes while they are away * Would be available EVERYDAY for a few hours (AM and PM) - Weekdays and Weekends. Since the sitters are independent they obviously can take days off anytime, it is just best for me to know it in advance in case some of the clients they did before reach out for visits. * would be available during most HOLIDAYS (see website for dates) but more importantly during the major year end holidays - Thanksgiving and year end holidays (including the 5 days before and the 5 days after) * loves cats no matter how picky they may be, can handle bipolar ones too and love them equally just from afar lol * likes walking a lot, it is a physical job, we are going from home to home, taking subways, stairs etc.. although some clients may reside in the same area, mileage adds up quickly. Many walkup buildings as well. * has basic customer service communication skills * owns a smart phone and knows how to write basic emails and attach videos and pictures * has transportation and/or most likely unlimited metro card Mind you! We are building a relationship between you the cat and the owner so somebody who is not seriously vested would not be a good match. If you're genuinely interested I hope to meet you soon.
