At home with me I need two females to role plays for film scenes I wrote. One must be no taller than 4 ft 11 and the other one must be at least 6 feet. Prior acting experience isn't needed. Title: "Fists of Resolve" In the heart of a quiet city neighborhood, tucked between a laundromat and a closed-down theater, stands a modest martial arts studio run by Master Li — a disciplined, soft-spoken kung fu coach trained in the Shaolin tradition. His walls are lined with calligraphy, wooden dummies, and photographs of his years studying at the legendary Shaolin Temple. This short film follows his journey as he trains two very different women who share the same goal: to learn kung fu for self-defense — and to reclaim their confidence. The Coach Master Li is in his 40s, lean and composed, with movements so precise they seem almost effortless. He believes kung fu is not about fighting — it is about discipline, awareness, and control. His teaching philosophy is rooted in patience. He reminds his students: "The strongest defense is a calm mind." He trains them in traditional stances, breath control, and situational awareness before ever teaching them how to strike. Student One: Maya Maya is a 20-year-old nurse. She is practical, analytical, and observant. Long shifts and late-night walks to her car have made her increasingly aware of her vulnerability. Physically, she is short in height with a runner's build — strong legs but limited upper body strength. At first, she struggles with explosive movements. Her punches lack commitment, and she hesitates before every strike. But Maya's strength is her focus. She studies technique like anatomy — breaking down each movement into components. Within weeks, her precision improves dramatically. Her defining moment in the film comes during a sparring simulation. Instead of overpowering her partner, she sidesteps, redirects, and neutralizes the "attack" using joint control techniques. Master Li nods approvingly. Maya represents calculated strength — proving that strategy can overcome size. Student Two: Alana Alana is 25, and she's a small business owner. She is naturally athletic and powerful, standing much taller than Maya with small narrow shoulders and quick reflexes. Unlike Maya, Alana attacks training with raw intensity. Her kicks are strong but uncontrolled. She relies on force rather than form. Her backstory reveals that she once avoided confrontation at all costs — until a frightening incident made her realize she wanted to feel prepared rather than afraid. Throughout the film, Alana's journey is about restraint. Master Li repeatedly corrects her: "Power without balance is weakness." Over time, her movements soften but become sharper. She learns to conserve energy, strike only when necessary, and control distance. Her pivotal scene comes when she flawlessly executes a defensive sequence — block, redirect, sweep — without a trace of aggression on her face. Calm. Centered. The Climax The film builds to a final training demonstration — not a tournament, but a controlled self-defense exhibition for the local community. The women demonstrate awareness drills, escape holds, and coordinated defense movements. The audience sees not violence, but empowerment. Master Li closes the event with a bow, standing slightly behind his students — no longer leading them, but supporting them. Themes "Fists of Resolve" is not about combat. It is about transformation. It explores: The difference between force and discipline The emotional journey from fear to confidence The idea that true self-defense begins with awareness A story of resilience. A story of control. A story where the greatest victory is confidence.
