MEOPTA is a Central European manufacturer of lenses, cameras, rangefinders and military optical systems, established in 1933 in Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic). Between the 1960's and 1980's Meopta's main area of expertise were excellent quality enlargers and enlarging lenses, as well as the highly regarded Flexaret medium format TLR cameras. Many demanding photographers compared Meopta enlarging lenses to the best German optics offered during the same era - Schneider Kreuznach and Rodenstock - Componon, Componar, Rodagon or the Rogonar.
