Hi! My name is Matt though I go by the pseudonym "Moby" on our "T-Hud Popcast" a Vancouver-area based podcast founded in 2017. Our show is based around three broad topics: movies/TV, video games, and board games. My co-host Leland and I often have guest hosts on various topics we're interested in including various local actors, directors, video game producers, effects artists, YouTubers, etc. We've been looking to do a show with a sort of nostalgic retrospective on the 1980s-early 2000s video store business, which is (sadly) now mostly a historical concept that our younger listeners did not grow up with. We've reached out to some of the few independent local video stores in the Greater Vancouver Area looking to see if someone wants to come on our show in guest spot but have received no responses, so instead we're trying Craigslist. Our ideal guest host would be: *Someone who worked at, managed, or owned a video store be it a chain store such as Blockbuster or Rogers Video, or an independent store *Someone who has interests in either board games and/or video games so as to be able to build the second segment for our show together. We always cover 2 of the 3 core topics of our show on each episode. This show would involve the Movie/TV segment directed towards a sort of interview about your experience working in a video store followed by a second segment to cover a different topic of mutual interest. *Someone who has a computer and microphone and can record remotely. We do not have an in-person studio. We pay for a service called "Zencastr" which is web-based podcasting software. You do not need to download anything. We simply send you a link prior to recording you click it and join. NOTE: While we see video as we record to ensure a natural conversation, there is no recording of the video, just the audio, as we are an audio-only podcast. *Someone will to give up 2 hours of their time and hopefully would find this as 2 hours of fun vs. "work". This episode would be scheduled to drop May 15th and recording would likely be end of April or the first week of May. We are a non-profit podcast only and do not earn a penny off what we do so we cannot afford to pay you. However, we do offer guest hosts generous opportunities to plug any business initiatives or social media you might have on our show. If this interests you, please email with a description of your experience. If we think you could be a good fit I'll reach out to try to book a phone call where we can feel each other out and see if it's a cultural fit. It usually is - every single guest host we've ever had has had enough fun that they have asked to return: some have returned 3-4x by this point! Thank you, Matt "Moby" The T-Hud Popcast
