Nikon AFD 85mm f1.8 lens, excellent like new condition. The Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D is a classic, highly regarded short-telephoto prime lens primarily used for portrait photography. Optical Character: It features 9 straight aperture blades that produce beautiful, organic background blur (bokeh), making it excellent for rendering subject separation in portraits. While it is sharp, it has a classic, slightly less clinical contrast rendering compared to modern lenses. Rear Focusing System: The lens uses a rear-focus design, meaning the physical length of the lens does not extend while focusing, and the 62mm front filter thread does not rotate. Tactile Build: It is built with a sturdy metal lens mount and a hard plastic outer barrel, making it compact yet substantial in the hand.
