We are looking for a makeup artist for a small independent feature film shooting in the Los Angeles area. Although this is a very low-budget production, the film features a well-known television actor, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to build their résumé and gain experience working on a feature film. The job will primarily involve standard on-set makeup, including keeping actors from appearing shiny under lighting, performing touch-ups throughout the day, and monitoring makeup continuity between scenes and takes. Because this is an ultra-low-budget production, the role will also involve helping with script supervision and continuity, as well as assisting with props and wardrobe continuity during the shoot. You will not be responsible for sourcing or transporting wardrobe or props, but during filming you will help ensure the correct wardrobe is worn for the correct scenes and that the proper props are used and handled appropriately so continuity is maintained. This position is ideal for someone who has training or experience in narrative production makeup such as short films, indie projects, or film school productions, understands basic on-set workflow and continuity, and is comfortable doing regular touch-ups throughout the day. Rate: $100/day for 5 to 6 days of work. This is film production makeup, not beauty or glam makeup. Please send: Brief introduction Relevant experience Photos of previous work if available.
