eeking a Director of Photography for a paid scripted vertical series shooting in Los Angeles on September 12, 2026. This production will shoot primarily on iPhone in 9:16 vertical. The iPhone workflow is an intentional creative and production choice: we want a very small camera footprint that allows us to move quickly through scripted coverage while maintaining a polished, consistent visual style. We're looking for a DP with a strong visual eye, solid composition and storytelling instincts, and the ability to work quickly and collaboratively with our director and lighting team. You should be comfortable making cinematography decisions, maintaining visual continuity, and adapting quickly as we move between setups. Experience shooting scripted narrative is valuable, but we are also very interested in DPs and creators coming from TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, vertical storytelling and other mobile-first production. Traditional film/TV experience is welcome but not required. We're much more interested in your eye, instincts, creativity and ability to execute than the size of your résumé. IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING This production is shooting on iPhone by design. We are specifically seeking a DP who is comfortable and enthusiastic about DPing the project on iPhone, rather than someone who views the phone as a temporary substitute for a conventional cinema camera. Please do not submit alternative Sony, Blackmagic, RED, ARRI, Canon or other cinema-camera packages in place of the requested iPhone setup. We appreciate that many DPs own excellent camera packages, but we have already made the decision to shoot this production on iPhone and are not considering alternative camera systems. CAMERA SETUP You should be able to provide a largely self-contained iPhone camera setup consisting of: Recent-model iPhone Pro or Pro Max Gimbal/stabilizer that you are experienced operating with your iPhone Sufficient battery/power for a full production day Sufficient storage for a full production day Reliable wireless director-monitoring solution allowing the director to see the camera feed while you operate Any necessary mounts/adapters/cables required for your setup to operate reliably If wireless monitoring is the one component you do not currently own, please still submit and simply tell us that production would need to provide/rent the monitoring solution. We are intentionally keeping the camera package small, fast and uncomplicated. We are not looking to build the iPhone into a large cinema-style rig. WHEN RESPONDING, PLEASE INCLUDE Links to work you personally shot. Scripted vertical examples are especially helpful, but strong TikTok, Reels, Shorts or other mobile-first work is welcome. The exact iPhone model you would bring. The gimbal/stabilizer you would bring. Your battery/power solution for a full production day. Your storage solution for a full production day. Your wireless director-monitoring solution, or clearly state that production would need to provide monitoring. Your day rate, along with any additional equipment/kit fee.
