Part-Time Videographer & Editor — Shoot AND Edit — $17–20/hr (NYC) We're building in-house video content for our personal brand and startup — founder interviews, promo/hype videos, event recaps, and social-first short-form for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. We're hiring ONE person who can own projects end-to-end: plan the shoot, shoot it, and edit it to final delivery. Great fit for film school students, recent grads, or early-career freelancers who want steady, paid, portfolio-building work with one consistent client instead of chasing one-off gigs. WHAT YOU'LL DO Plan and run small shoots in NYC: interviews, founder talking-heads, B-roll, occasional events Operate a mirrorless/DSLR camera, set up basic 2–3 point lighting, record clean lav/shotgun audio Direct nervous founders and execs on camera and get natural takes Edit everything you shoot in Premiere Pro with a modern, high-energy style: tight pacing, speed ramps, match cuts, rhythm-driven sequencing Build dynamic motion graphics in After Effects - animated captions, kinetic typography, callouts, transitions, logo animations Handle sound design, music sync, color correction, and platform-ready exports (vertical, square, horizontal) — roughly 2–4 finished pieces per week WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Strong Premiere Pro AND After Effects — your reel should show polished, dynamic editing, not just clean cuts. If your work features creative transitions, speed ramps, and motion graphics that hold attention, you'll fit right in Confident behind a camera AND in the timeline — you shoot with the edit in mind You understand hooks, pacing, and retention for short-form social Organized, reliable, communicates clearly, hits deadlines Candidates who own their own camera, audio, and lighting kit are ideal and will be prioritized PAY & COMMITMENT $17–20/hr depending on experience Minimum 10–15 hours/week, flexible around class schedules Guaranteed monthly retainer up to $1,000/month available if you can commit to consistent weekly availability Freelance (1099) with a written agreement Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US.
