I'm looking for a post sound mixer / sound designer to finish the sound on a short narrative film. Runtime: Just over 5 minutes Status: Picture locked Current edit: Final Cut Pro Budget for this assignment: $250 total The film is very straightforward: two men talking on a park bench. The production sound is generally usable, and the natural ambience of the park—ducks, geese, birds, wind, etc.—can and should remain as part of the film. There is no music. The sound consists primarily of dialogue, natural ambience, and potential FX. What I'm looking for: *Dialogue cleanup and noise reduction *Evening out dialogue levels *Cleaning up extraneous production sounds *Evening out and matching room tone / ambience *Crossfades and smooth transitions between edits *Adding or adjusting subtle ambience where needed *Sound design / FX where appropriate *Overall level balancing and final mix *Final stereo mix *Separated stems suitable for theatrical/festival delivery (dialogue, FX/ambience, One issue: the separate room-tone track I recorded on set has a faint siren in the background that is still very distracting. You may need to source a new room tone or find a way to clean up the siren. The picture is locked, so there will be no further editorial changes while sound is being completed. This is a small, quiet, dialogue-driven film rather than a sound-heavy project. I'm looking for someone who can give it a clean, natural, professional finish without over-designing it. A sound credit will be given on the finished film. I have a screener link available if you'd like to watch the film and further assess whether it's something you'd want to take on. If you need any additional information about the project or the sound files/workflow, feel free to reach out. And if it's ultimately not a good fit, no worries at all. Please send a brief description of your experience, examples/reel if available, and let me know if the $250 total assignment budget works for you. Thanks!
