Writer-director seeking a practical effects artist or small FX team for a psychological horror short shooting in the Los Angeles area in May. This is a performance-driven horror film with several moments of surreal and disturbing physical transformation that will rely on practical effects and prosthetic work. Examples of effects needed include: • Silicone appliances for subdermal bulges and body distortions • Small mechanical/puppet-style effects (organic movement under skin or fabric) • Construction of small practical props with organic texture • Light collaboration with the VFX team for hybrid practical/digital shots The goal is grounded, tactile horror effects rather than large creature builds. This is a paid project, and we are looking for artists who enjoy creative problem solving and scrappy indie filmmaking.
