Writer-director seeking a talented Director of Photography for a contained psychological horror short shooting in the Los Angeles area in May. The film is a performance-driven psychological horror story set across a small number of interior locations and built around tension, atmosphere, and strong visual storytelling. Visual tone inspirations include films like Barbarian, Antichrist, and Possession (1981). Ideal candidates will have: • Experience shooting narrative work (horror experience strongly preferred) • A strong eye for composition, lighting, and atmosphere • Interest in collaborating closely with the director to develop a distinct visual language for the film • Some familiarity working with green screen, VFX plates, or coordinating with VFX teams This is a paid project, and you and your core crew will be compensated fairly. The production is intentionally lean and agile, and I'm particularly interested in cinematographers who are comfortable working with a small, focused crew and a streamlined camera package. Owning or operating your own gear (Sony FX3, Canon C80, or similar) is a strong plus. The goal is smart, efficient filmmaking, not large studio-scale setups. Note: The film includes scenes involving intimacy and vulnerable subject matter. For that reason, female cinematographers and those experienced working on productions involving intimacy coordination are especially encouraged to reach out. Please include: • Reel or sample work (narrative material preferred) • A short bio or introduction • Confirmation of May availability Looking forward to seeing your work.
