I am an Emmy-nominated female writer/director is collaborating with a UTA-represented writer/director on a low-budget feature film developed through the Tribeca Film Festival Labs and recently announced in Variety. We're currently looking for a composer to score the film. This is very much a labor-of-love project with strong creative backing and clear artistic intention. While the budget is modest, the film itself is bold, performance-driven, and structurally inventive, with music playing a central role in shaping tone, emotion, and momentum. We're looking for someone excited to engage deeply with the material and collaborate closely with the directors throughout the process. The film is a psychological relationship thriller with elements of sci-fi body horror, told through a striking, non-linear structure. Tonally, it lives in an A24-adjacent space, moody, intimate, and emotionally precise, with touches of dark academia and subtle surrealism. Creative touchstones include the striking, unconventional scores for The Plague (2025), Punch Drunk Love (2004) or X (2022). We're offering a flat fee of $3,500, with a flexible schedule and clearly defined delivery milestones. Picture lock and final delivery are planned for early August, as we're targeting an early Sundance submission. Several members of the creative team are attached to higher-profile projects, and we're genuinely interested in building lasting creative relationships that can continue on future films with more traditional budgets. If this sounds like a good fit, please reach out with your resume and links to relevant work. We're happy to share our websites, reels, past features, as well as the script and look deck for your review.
