We're building out a personal brand presence ahead of the launch of a fashion label, and we're looking for creative collaborators across a few different disciplines. You don't need to shoot both photo and video, and you don't need to work in both editorial and documentary styles - we're looking for specialists in each of the following, and would love to hear from you if any one of these is your craft: Editorial / Fashion Photographers — polished, highly stylized stills that capture and hold attention Editorial / Fashion Videographers — the same sensibility in motion: short-form, brand-driven, visually elevated Documentary Photographers — candid, narrative-driven stills with a strong point of view Documentary Videographers — story-led polished footage of craft (think behind-the-scenes, process, real moments) with stylistic taste. Will be able to supply reference videos for the feel of what we are looking for. This role starts project-by-project, but we're hoping to find the right ongoing creative partners, possibly one person per discipline, or someone who covers two or more if that's genuinely where their strength lies. EDITORIAL What We're Looking For: - Experience shooting editorial, fashion, luxury, or high-end lifestyle content - A portfolio that demonstrates composition, lighting, and creative direction - Ability to translate moodboards and creative references into polished visual content - Confidence directing talent and creating a comfortable and engaging shoot environment - An active creative collaborator - someone who brings their own ideas to the table for narrative concepts, locations, styling direction, and shoot treatments, not just executing a brief DOCUMENTARY What We're Looking For: - A strong sense of narrative - the ability to find, create, and follow a real story as it unfolds - Comfort working in unscripted, lower-control environments (mills, studios, workrooms, travel) - A portfolio that shows restraint and intentionality, not just observation Documentary Photographers: Primarily observational - finding and capturing genuine moments as they happen - but comfortable stepping in to direct when a moment needs a nudge: asking someone to pause, re-angling toward better light, prompting a beat rather than waiting indefinitely for it to occur on its own. We're looking for someone who can read a space and know when to stay invisible and when a small intervention will get the better shot. Documentary Videographers: Observational subject matter, but not observational shooting. We need someone who can find the story and actively direct it on location - calling shots, directing movement, prompting moments - rather than shooting fly-on-the-wall and hoping coverage falls into place. Specifically, we need someone confident enough to: - Direct subjects in real time on location - posing, blocking, re-asking for a moment if it didn't land - Prioritize coverage that actually cuts together: sustained takes, genuine reaction shots, close-ups on faces, hands, materials, and craft process - Actively get in front of the subject, not trailing behind - we need footage that shows emotion and process, not just wide shots of someone moving through a space - Balance directing with feel - knowing when to ask for something and when to let a real moment play out - Think in footage that edits into a narrative, not just footage that documents an event ALL DISCIPLINES We're looking for: - Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability - LA-based (or able to work LA-based shoots) - A genuine point of view - we want your eye, not a generic one PHOTOGRAPHERS: scope of editing work will be discussed per project, but ideally, proficiency in Lightroom, Photoshop, or comparable software for retouching and delivery VIDEOGRAPHERS: scope of editing work will be discussed per project, but ideally, proficiency in your editing pipeline of choice, with experience delivering short and medium-form content Bonus If You Have: - Experience working with designers, founders, or emerging fashion labels - An understanding of content needs across Instagram, digital marketing, and brand-building - A passion for style, design, and visual storytelling Details: - Los Angeles based - Freelance / project-based to start, with potential for recurring work - Compensation discussed per project, based on scope, experience, and deliverables - we're an emerging brand currently building toward launch, and we're looking to create thoughtful, portfolio-worthy work with the right collaborators. - We're hoping to find 1–2 people per discipline that we click with for repeat work - initial shoots will likely be on the smaller end of the range as we get to know each other's style, with bigger and better-paid projects or retainers as the relationship develops. - Some projects may include final editing/retouching as part of the scope; others may only require raw delivery, with editing handled separately.
