Social Media Manager (part time with room for growth) west side
Jobs

Skills needed / job requirements: *Video-editing (and uploading/posting) - we'll work together on captions, etc. *Creative collaboration and help coming up with content ideas for approximately 2-3 reels per month + a few static posts (not a lot of volume; I aim for quality over quantity). *Help with paid ads, boosting posts, and experimenting with things like trial reels. *Basic photography and photo-editing skills; an iPhone is fine but a creative eye for composition is important. *Basic WordPress / website editing skills. Bonus skills / room for growth: *Help generating/securing brand deals and paid sponsorships (I'm not quite ready for that but the goal is to get me there). *Collaborating with me on guerrilla marketing tactics and traditional PR. *Basic graphic design (example: I need a new logo right now and I can outsource this to someone else but if you possess these skills I see it as a value add). *Newsletter management (not required but we can discuss it). About me / about this job: I'm a podcast host and I live/work on the west side (near Bundy and Wilshire); I film the podcast in West Hollywood. This job is mostly remote with totally flexible hours, but it will require SOME in-person meetings for content creation, so please keep in mind that meeting once per month or once every other month somewhere between the west side and WeHo will be necessary. The show is about mental health but it's more of a societal lens than an individual one, and it's politically liberal - so episodes are about things like the mental health impact of climate change and artificial intelligence, etc. The show has a strong presence on YouTube but I'm trying to build out my other social media channels and the goal is to work together to create content that's interesting. I'm a (very youthful) 47 year-old woman so I'm not a social media native. This is where you come in! This is not a hard job, but it is one that requires creativity and a bit of entrepreneurial spirit. Compensation is $50/hour with an initial guarantee of 15 hours of work per month (so $750 per month to start). There's lots of room for growth in both pay and hours for the kind of person who wants that. This job can become what you make of it. About you and the role: The skills listed in that first "requirement" column are the basic tenets of this job so someone with an understanding of social media and video editing is a must. The skills in the second column are more of a "nice to have" / we can work together to help you grow into that, if you want. More than anything I'm looking for a creative thought partner who's willing to have some fun with me. We're not saving lives here so it's not a job that's built around a false sense of urgency. It's a creative gig and will be treated as such. To give you an example of something we can collaborate on together: I have an idea in mind for a photoshoot that would be good for branding. The idea is pretty simple and is going to be easy to execute on, but we might need to go to a thrift store together to style it, so the right person for this job is someone who's willing to jump in and have some fun with this. To that end, we can work together to give you the job title you want. Social media skills are mandatory but you don't have to think of yourself as a "social media manager." We can call you something like my "Media and Brand Director" and get you business cards to suit the role :) If you're interested, please reply with some information about why you think you're the right fit for this, and supply some examples of previous video editing work. The interview will require an in-person meeting where you'll be supplied with my information (website, YouTube and social media handles, etc.) and expected to tell me what you would want to do to take my "brand" to the next level. It will not be an intimidating experience because I'm not an intimidating person, but I need evidence that you can be creative and think for yourself. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm marking this as "mid" instead of entry level but you don't need to have a ton of previous work experience. I'm more interested in finding someone who has creative talent and a hunger to create a career for him or herself. The goal will be to hire someone by March 1st and to get you fully up and running by April 1st. Please be patient as I sort through submissions. If you don't hear back for a week or two it doesn't mean that you're out of contention :)
