This role is a unique blend of performance, collaboration, and creative songwriting—best designed for someone who thrives on audience engagement and connecting with both kids and adults. What You'll Do We need a talented individual to create memorable, interactive musical experiences for our primary audience: families with young children (3-6 years old), while also entertaining older kids and adults. Key Responsibilities Original Music: Write and perform Sunnyside Originals Performance: Play a 1hr set consisting of Sunnyside Originals, popular kids songs, and favorite covers. Engagement/Interactivity: Drive audience engagement and interactivity with both kids and adults during every performance. If you're able to have the audience dancing, singing, and laughing altogether, you've done it. Content Creation: Record vocals for studio sessions, appear on social media, and participate in podcast/video content. The Ideal Performer: We are seeking a Creative Collaborator/Contractor with a love for live musical performance and an orientation towards activating families with young kiddos. Musical Talent: Must play the guitar (additional instruments are a bonus!). Must have your own instrument(s). Performance Background: Preference for current or former students of performance theater, music, and entertainment. When your audience is comprised primarily of children, improv is the name of the game. Engagement: Must be great at interacting with young children and families. Preference given to early childhood educators with musical talent. Life Experience: A huge bonus if you are a parent yourself! Willingness to try: If you're down to perform in front of kids/families, you'd likely be down to lead a fun and engaging science experiment. This kind of flexibility is essential. Performance Details Location: Performances will be concentrated on the Westside LA (must have own transportation). Frequency: Likely starting with weekly performances in a public area/park, end-of-month concerts, and special events. Duration: Typical performance duration is 1 hour. Compensation: Competitive compensation offered. Ready to Apply? Submit a Demo Video: Film a video of yourself performing 1–3 favorite songs that you would play for families/kids. The primary focus of the video should be demonstrating your 'performance presence' / vibe / energy. Contact Us: DM your video to @SunnysideLA_ .
