Temporary Street Team Members Needed for NYC Theatre Promotion Pay: $20 per hour Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per person Dates: July 20 through August 2, 2026 Location: Manhattan, primarily Midtown and Times Square An independent theatre production is hiring two to three temporary Street Team Members to promote the world premiere of Funeral of god, running July 30 through August 2 at AMT Theater in Manhattan. This is a short-term paid opportunity for outgoing, dependable people who enjoy theatre, live events, street marketing, performance, or creative promotional work. The primary required date is Saturday, July 25, when the team will participate in a theatrical promotional procession in Times Square. The procession may include: A portable pop-up coffin Coordinated black or funeral-style clothing Prayer-card-inspired promotional cards Stickers and signs Funeral-style music Public interaction Social media video recording The event will be theatrical, absurdist, intelligent, and playful. The production is not announcing the burial of a deity. The lowercase "g" is intentional. The play concerns the disappearance of certainty and what human beings do once the universe stops returning their calls. Additional work may include: Distributing postcards Placing posters at approved locations Visiting theatres, rehearsal studios, coffee shops, schools, and arts businesses Carrying signs or promotional materials Helping manage props during the Times Square event Engaging politely with members of the public Assisting with merchandise or promotional activity at selected performances Helping record audience reactions after a performance Not every Team Member will be required for every performance. However, availability for the July 25 procession is essential. Ideal candidates are: Dependable and punctual Comfortable walking and standing for several hours Friendly and comfortable approaching strangers Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team Interested in theatre, events, comedy, performance, marketing, or social media Comfortable appearing incidentally in promotional video Available in Manhattan on Saturday, July 25 Street-team, acting, event, hospitality, promotional, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
