We want the raw, "unfiltered" truth of your day. This includes your commute, job hunting, grocery shopping, or discussing your housing situation. We are looking for the "POV" (Point of View) of someone navigating the current L.A. or local economy. 2. Do I need to be a professional filmmaker? No. The beauty of this project is its authenticity. You just wear the glasses and live your life. Our team handles all the professional editing to turn your 4 hours of footage into a compelling documentary short. 3. What are the requirements to be featured? Your story must be true. You must be willing to have your face and story shared publicly and online. You must be comfortable speaking to news and media outlets about your experience. 4. How does the $200 payout work? The $200 is a stipend paid to you following the Sunday evening premiere of your film. This is funded by the $10 ticket sales and the community fundraiser held during the event. In order to receive the stipend, your event must have 20 guests. If you fail to reach 20 guests, you will be paid for the guests that attend. (Example 10 guests equals $100) You can take part in one-time event or weekly. 5. How do I get the glasses? If you don't own Meta-style camera glasses (like Ray-Ban Meta), you can rent a pair from SMS Novel for $25 for a 4-hour block. We will provide a brief tutorial on how to use them safely. For the Audience (The Supporters) 1. Where do the ticket proceeds go? 100% of the $10 ticket price goes directly to the individual featured in that week's film up to $200. 2. When and where are the premieres? Premieres happen every Sunday evening online. Once you register at SMSNovel.com, you will receive a private streaming link for that week's film. 3. Is this a live event? Yes. While the film is pre-edited, the event includes a Live Q&A a host, you, film viewing, and Q & A from audience. You can ask questions and offer support via the live chat. Privacy & Ethics 1. Is it legal to film with these glasses? Participants are instructed to follow all local privacy laws. You should not film in "private spaces" (restrooms, doctor's offices) or capture sensitive information like PIN codes or private documents. When filming others, we encourage transparency—letting people know you are documenting your life for a film project. 2. Who owns the final movie? SMS Novel Films retains the rights to the edited documentary for public and promotional use, but the story remains yours. Our goal is to give your struggle a platform that reaches the news and the community.
