Do you own or manage a vacant apartment, house, commercial unit, or other space that's currently sitting unused? I'm an LA filmmaker looking for a location for a small independent narrative short film shooting for approximately 3 days in late October or early November. We're hoping to find a property that is currently vacant or underused and provide the owner with some additional income for allowing us to film there. We're looking for a space that can play as a gritty safe house. An older, dated, somewhat run-down apartment or small house would be ideal, but we're very open to other possibilities, including vacant units awaiting renovation, workshops, garages, basements, warehouses, industrial spaces, old offices, storefronts, motel-style units, or other unusual spaces. Imperfections are a plus. We're not looking for a beautifully renovated or furnished property. Dated kitchens and bathrooms, worn walls or floors, old fixtures, unfinished areas, and spaces awaiting renovation could actually be perfect for us. A ground-floor space with accessible windows would be ideal, particularly if there's room outside the windows for film lighting. A kitchen or kitchenette and bathroom would also be helpful, but neither is essential for the right property. This would be a small, professionally run independent production with a limited cast and crew. We will carry production insurance, protect the property while filming, and leave it as we found it. This is paid. We're working with an independent-film budget and can negotiate a location fee based on the property and filming requirements. If you have a unit or building that's currently sitting empty, this could be an easy way to generate some additional income from the space for a few days. We're open to locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area. If you own or manage something that might work, please send a few photos of the interior, the general neighborhood/location, and a little information about the property. It does not need to be a traditional filming location. In fact, we'd particularly like to hear about spaces that normally wouldn't be considered one. Thanks!
