About the Job Orbital is building datacenters in space. We raised from a16z speedrun, Human Element, Anti Fund and others, and are now preparing for our first launch. The story is extraordinary — rockets, GPUs, factory floors — and we need someone to tell it. We're hiring a founding media creative to own how Orbital looks and sounds to the world. You'll shoot and edit event recap videos from factory visits, launches, and team milestones — and help produce launch events in the style of leading space companies. You'll cut short-form content built to push sharp narratives, edit and publish our podcast, and create science-forward explainers (sun-synchronous orbits, orbital power, space debris) using motion graphics, AI visuals, and stock. For product launches, you'll blend 3D animation and AI tooling with strong storytelling. You'll own scripts and narrative direction, as well as visuals. Ideal Candidate You're a young, hungry creative who is dangerous with a camera and faster in the edit. You live in the startup and tech world — you know the founder-story format, you've studied why certain clips rip on X and TikTok, and you have opinions about what makes SpaceX launch coverage feel epic. You use AI tools (video, image, voice) aggressively to move faster, not as a gimmick. You're happy shooting a factory visit in the morning, cutting a recap that night, and shipping a short the next day. You don't wait for permission, you don't need a big production team, and you'd rather post ten things this month than polish one thing for a quarter. Job Requirements Strong camera fundamentals (shooting interviews, events, b-roll) and fast, confident editing in Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci, or similar. A portfolio of short-form content — show us clips, not a resume. Comfort with motion graphics (After Effects or equivalent) and modern AI video/image tools; 3D animation experience is a big plus. Audio editing chops for podcast cleanup and publishing. Fluency with tech/startup culture and internet-native storytelling. Willingness to travel for shoots (factory, launches, LA) and to move at startup speed. Bonus: experience producing live events or launch livestreams.
