National Park Planner seeks a female host for female outdoor adventure and sports apparel YouTube videos. Applicants must be physically fit and able to do strenuous hikes, paddling trips, and bike rides. The job initially involves narrating studio-made videos on a contract basis but can expand for those able to travel for extended periods of time to National Parks and could become a full-time job for those with advanced video editing skills and who can put together a complete video project. However, travel and video editing are not a requirement, but those with these abilities jump to the top of the list. REQUIRED SKILLS • Physically fit, attractive, and charismatic • Able to bring life and natural enthusiasm to scripts read from a teleprompter • Able to work when needed in Roswell, Georgia • Able to hike up to 15 miles a day on difficult terrain, paddle up to 20 miles in a day, and bike up to 40 miles in a day • Willing to camp outdoors BONUS SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Able to travel up to 2 months to National Parks (no dogs or other pets or children allowed) • Willing to camp in less-than-optimal conditions (heat, cold, no showers, pit toilets, etc.) • Working to advance knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects • Excellent cinematography skills PAY (CONTRACT BASIS) • $200 per video • Host and edit videos: $500 per video • Travel is $100/day plus all expenses Workload can easily top 200 videos, though this will take a year or more. Keep in mind that video hosting is not a full-time job, and this work can be scheduled around other jobs you may have, so night and weekend work is fine. For those willing to travel, scheduled trips as of now are: • East Coast Parks from North Carolina Outer Banks to Washington DC: September 22 to October 27. • Everglades Trip: First week in January 2027 • Spring Trip to East Coast Parks starting sometime in April through mid-May. Again, being willing to travel or edit video is not a job requirement. These are bonus skills that will put you above other applicants, but do not be afraid to apply if all you want to do is host the videos. TO APPLY Fill out an application at https://npplan.com/jobs Provide links to any online work, modeling portfolios, etc. Create an audition video of yourself narrating the following script (part full-future standing, part sitting, waist/chest up, or create two versions). Place these on a video platform and provide a link. Be sure the link is public, not private. You do not have to memorize the script. You can read from a piece of paper, but make it as natural sounding as possible. ------------------------------------------ Backcountry camping at Everglades National Park requires staying in designated campsites, and all but two require a boat of some type to reach. There are 46 water-based sites in all. Those on the rivers and creeks have a capacity of 6 to 20 people, with most holding less than a dozen. Beach campsites, which are found on the outlying islands in the Gulf of Mexico, can hold has many as 60 people. Capacity is further broken down into groups. For example, a campsite might hold twelve people but no more than three groups. This means if three groups of two people have already reserved the site, a single, seventh person cannot stay despite the fact that the campsite is only half full. Backcountry campsites must now be reserved at Recreation.gov, and this can be done up to three months in advance. There is no need to go to a visitor center for a permit. In fact, if you show up at a visitor center, the Ranger will just tell you to use your phone and go to Recreation.gov. Permits are sent by email when you make a reservation. You can either print a physical copy and carry it with you or save it or a screenshot to your phone. There is no need to check in before departing for your campsite, but if requested by a Ranger or park police, you must be able to show the permit, possibly without Internet access, so be sure it is physically stored in memory on your phone. There is a fee for backcountry camping. The current camping fee is $21 per group for an administration fee plus $2 / person for each night. Keep in mind that prices can always change, so be sure to get the latest fee on Recreation.gov. Fees are now collected for camping year-round. Summer camping used to be free, but I suppose the National Park Service figured that if you are dumb enough to camp in the Everglades during the summer, you are dumb enough to pay $21-plus to do so. --------------------------------------------------
