The recorder works great, it just has a battery cover missing. Battery is holding fine without the back cover. Zoom's are known for draining a battery when not in use, so I don't recommend storing the battery inside of the unit. I just use thin plastic spacer in the battery compartment. Other than above mentioned issues, sound quality wise it's an awesome recorder. Location, near Kings Highway (Q,B)
