**CALL FOR CREATIVE GUEST HOSTS | BYOC PODCAST** Pull up a chair. Let's talk about something real. The BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) podcast is seeking dynamic, authentic, and expressive creatives across New York City to join the circle as featured guest hosts for an episode. Produced under UTV, the BYOC podcast is an intimate, fast-paced, 15-minute video podcast built on genuine dialogue, spontaneous energy, and physical presence. Every episode unfolds in a completely new environment—from hidden architectural gems and community lounges to open outdoor spaces across the five boroughs. No static desks or manufactured talking points. We pull up our chairs, unpack real questions, and leave whatever we were carrying behind us. Episodes Needed For A Guest Host So Far Includes: **EP03- If you stripped yourself of all the labels society placed on you, how would you introduce your core self? **EP05- Why do we sometimes self-sabotage when things are going well?/Are we too hard on ourselves? **EP06- Do we ask "Are you ok?" to fish for more information or because we care? **EP08- Is being broke a season or a mindset? **EP09- Should we be giving two-week notices at work? **EP10- Can music save someone? **EP12- Are boundaries healthy? **EP15- What are "Gender Wars" and why is it important for the opposite gender to understand us? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **The Mission & The Premise** The BYOC podcast exists at the intersection of candid conversation, style, and creative release. Hosted by Joa Luna, each episode is structured around a single core question (e.g., "Can movement heal what words can't?" or "Why do we wait to celebrate until we're successful?"). As a guest host, you are not simply an interviewee waiting for questions—you are sharing the floor, voicing your experiences, and co-piloting the room in real time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **What You Will Do on Set** 1. The Fashion Entrance (OOTD): Every episode opens with your arrival. Each episode is themed. For example: the Japanese anime theme you see in some of the images were one of the episodes involving the beneficial and destructive uses of AI and the power of creation (the anime themed was derived off of the anime cooking show the guest host is producing). You will make a distinct visual statement, pulling up to the location and showcasing your themed fit of the day before unfolding your chair into the space (you will unfold a chair only if the shoot is outside; indoor shoots have in-house chairs & sofas provided so you'll only need to be filmed walking in and sitting down). Style and visual expression are baked directly into the show's DNA. 2. The Live Conversation: Sit down, tap into the question of the day, and dive straight into an unfiltered, unscripted 5-to-10-minute dialogue. We skip small talk to focus on healing, growth, craft, identity, and perspective. This podcast is meant to serve as a therapeutic means for the viewer. The viewers want to know about YOUR experiences, NOT theories or debates... Just your stories and advice. 3. The "Chair Check" Segment & Challenge: During our signature pivot, you will verbally participate in the "Chair Check" segment where we co-create a tangible, real-world action or weekly challenge that the audience can practice at home in relation to the question of the episode. 4. The Takeaway Segment During this segment, you will participate in a 1–2-minute summarization of the episode by delivering concrete takeaways towards the audience. 5. The Creative Collaborative Outro: The show concludes with expressive movement or art that reflects the episode's theme. Depending on your discipline and the topic, you will collaborate with the host on a final release segment—whether that means breaking out into dance, trading verses, live sketching, acting, crafting, or dynamic vocal work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Guest Host Requirements & Logistics** * Location Flexibility: Production takes place on location—both indoors or outdoors—throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. You must have the ability and willingness to travel to one location across the five boroughs on the day of shooting. * Discipline: Open to multidisciplinary artists, designers, dancers, writers, vocalists, community leaders, and visionaries comfortable performing and speaking on camera without a script. * Compensation: This is a collaborative platform designed for artist visibility, cross-pollination, and portfolio content. **Travel expenses to and from the shoot location will be reimbursed.
