Independent psychological thriller feature: A competitive woman discovers her boyfriend is cheating and secretly befriends the other woman under a fake name, until the lies turn dangerous. DETAILS - NON-UNION - Los Angeles area. Local hire only. - 15 shoot days [exact month and dates to be determined]. Actors are only scheduled on the days their character works. Some overnight shoots. - Rehearsal/table read required for lead roles [dates to be determined]. - Must have reliable transportation to and from set. - Lunch and craft services provided on set. - IMDb credit and footage for your reel. - Must be 18+ (bar scenes 21+) and legally eligible to work in the U.S. No nudity. Kissing scenes and physical scenes are discussed in advance, and all physical scenes are supervised by a stunt coordinator. Selected actors will receive sides for a self tape, followed by in person callbacks. JADA – Female, Black or Mixed, 25–33 (plays 29) – $3,150 total / 15 days on set Personality: A top sales rep who has treated life like a race since childhood. Polished, confident, witty and sharp tongued, with a need to win at everything. Under the armor, she is deeply afraid of never being anyone's first choice. When she learns her boyfriend is cheating, she creates a fake identity, to get close to the other woman, and starts to lose herself in the lie. Must be able to play two versions of herself: commanding, glamorous Jada, and soft, shy, forgettable alter ego. Emotions: confidence, humor, controlled anger, heartbreak, obsession, jealousy, guilt, panic, raw grief, and cold resolve. Many scenes are silent reactions, so we need an actor who can tell the story with her face alone. Appears in nearly every scene. Includes voice over narration, short kissing scenes and a stunt coordinated fight. Hair: Natural curly hair preferred or loose curly hair/wig that can be straightened. 2. BIANCA – Female, Black, Mixed, or Ethnically ambiguous, 23–35 (plays 27) – $1,280 total / 9 days on set Personality: Bubbly, warm, generous and a little goofy. She has chosen to trust people completely because of a painful family secret from her childhood. She lights up every room and is impossible not to love. Emotions: pure joy, playfulness, tenderness, vulnerability, hope, shock, betrayal, and explosive rage. Must be able to go from sunshine to devastation in a single scene. Includes short kissing scenes and a stunt coordinated fight. Hair: Natural curly hair preferred or loose curly hair/wig that can be straightened. 3. TASHA – Female, Black or Mixed, 25–35 (plays 30) – $663 total / 5 days on set Personality: Jada's best friend since college. Funny, loyal, protective and grounded, the voice of reason everyone leans on. Unshakably calm in a crisis. This role has hidden layers that are revealed later in the film; full details will be shared at callbacks. Emotions: warmth, humor, tough love, concern, and complete composure under pressure, with something unreadable underneath. We need an actor with real subtlety, who can say a lot with very little. Includes a short kissing scene. Hair: Natural curly hair preferred or loose curly hair/wig that can be straightened. 4. JASON – Male, Black or Mixed, 28–36 (plays 32) – $1,114 total / 9 days on set Personality: A gym owner who is charming, attentive and effortlessly confident. He makes every woman feel like the only one in the room, and he is a practiced liar who is very good at it. Underneath the charm is a man who is tired, and quietly scared of the life he has built. Emotions: romantic charm, playfulness, smooth deception, defensiveness, nervousness, fear and panic. Must be fit/in shape (owns a gym; some shirtless bedroom scenes, no nudity). Includes short kissing scenes. ------------------------------------------------- SUPPORTING ROLES DESIREE "DEZ" – Female, Black, Mixed, Puerto Rican, or Ethnically ambiguous, 25–35 (plays 28)– $313 total / 2 days on set Personality: Bianca's best friend. Loud, glamorous, blunt and fiercely protective. Nobody gets past her, and she's the first to suspect Jada isn't who she says she is. Emotions: humor, big energy, suspicion, intimidation, fierce loyalty, and deep worry for a friend. Needs sharp comic timing and real menace. ------------------------------------------------- DAY PLAYERS 1. KEVIN – Male, Open to all ethnicities, 30–45 (plays 35) – $111 total / 1 day on set Jada's smug, cologne heavy sales rival. Cocky, competitive, and funny without trying to be. Emotions: arrogance, teasing, fake friendliness, delight at others' mistakes. Improv skills a plus. 2. DIANE – Female, Open to all ethnicities 45–60 (plays 50s)– $111 total / 1 day on set Jada's boss. Sharp, direct and dry witted; commands a room without raising her voice. Emotions: authority, impatience, disappointment, and a hint of hidden warmth. 3. KIKI – Female, Open to all ethnicities, 22–33 (plays 26) – $175 total / 1 day on set The quiet, sweet member of the trivia team, always on her phone. Emotions: gentle humor, excitement, and worry. 4. JEROME/J.R. – Male, Open to all ethnicities, 35–45 (plays 40s)– $55 total / 1 day on set A busy, no nonsense ER charge nurse everyone calls "J.R." One short scene. Emotions: brisk, tired, friendly impatience. 5. TRIVIA HOST – Any gender, Open to all ethnicities, 21–45 – $92 total / 1 day on set An energetic bar trivia MC in a bucket hat.
