Graduate film student seeking a Production Designer and Gaffer for a short narrative film shooting Friday 3/27 and Saturday 3/28. Most of the filming will take place at a graduate film school facility in NYC. About the Film: SOL is a short film about an immigrant factory worker who spends her days assembling identical dolls in a small industrial workspace. Through quiet observation of routine labor, the film explores themes of identity, dignity, and small acts of resistance within systems that value uniformity over individuality. Production Designer - Looking for an emerging designer or someone with some experience to help create the illusion of a small doll assembly factory environment. The design will focus on workstation details (tables, boxes, labeled bins, doll parts, packaging) rather than a large build. Most shots will be tight, and sound design will help create the sense of a larger factory space. Gaffer - Looking for someone to help create two distinct lighting environments: A cold fluorescent factory look (industrial, repetitive, flat lighting). A natural daylight toy store window look that contrasts with the factory environment. Details: Non-union student production. There is not paid However, Transportation and meals will cover, also film credits offered If interested, please send a short note about your experience and any relevant work or portfolio.
