Independent film production seeking a talented composer to create an original score for an upcoming short film, City of Shadows, shooting in Los Angeles. City of Shadows is a dark psychological crime thriller about two veteran detectives who have spent years hunting an elusive serial killer known as "Ghost." When one detective begins to suspect the killer may be much closer than anyone realizes, a decade-long friendship begins to unravel. We're looking for a composer who can create a dark, atmospheric, emotionally driven cinematic score that builds tension without overpowering the performances. The film will rely heavily on mood, suspense, silence, and the emotional relationship between the two lead characters. Ideal influences include modern psychological thrillers, neo-noir crime films, and prestige television dramas. We are especially interested in composers comfortable working with minimalist textures, ambient tension, subtle orchestration, and emotionally powerful themes. This is a paid position.
