The Camera is a 12 to 15 minute independent short. A woman photographs strangers without their permission. One of them follows her out the door. I'm a Los Angeles writer and director seeking an experienced Production Designer. The film is shot in sepia-toned color across three locations: a reading room, an exterior, and the photographer's bedroom, whose walls are covered in enlarged black-and-white portraits of strangers. I need a designer who can bring each space to life. What you'll do: • Develop the visual concept and look of the film with me and the cinematographer • Design and dress all three sets • Source and manage props, furniture, set dressing, and materials within a tight budget • Coordinate with the production coordinator • Oversee dressing and strike on shoot days What we're looking for: • Proven experience in production design, art direction, or set decoration (shorts, features, commercials, or music videos) • A portfolio or reel showing your work • A strong eye for color, texture, and atmosphere • Resourcefulness, with the ability to do a lot with a little • Available for the dates below Compensation: $2,000 flat fee for the full project, plus a credit on the film. Meals provided on shoot days.
