Hello! We're a content team that creates short-form videos for businesses. Over the last few years we've built a system that consistently creates videos that get views and drive results. Because we're growing, we're looking to add 1–2 video editors to our team. ## About the videos Most videos are between 15 seconds and 1 minute long. They're straightforward edits—cutting out pauses, tightening the pacing, adding captions, b-roll, and graphics to keep people watching. Everything is filmed with the edit in mind, and you'll have hundreds of examples to reference so you're never guessing what we're looking for. We currently produce hundreds of short-form videos every month, so there's plenty of work for the right person. ## About the clients Most of our clients are car dealerships. You don't need to know a lot about cars, but if you do, that's definitely a bonus. ## About the job This is an ongoing contractor position. * Starting pay is **$10 per approved video.** * Most editors on our team complete **5 or more videos per day**, depending on how much they want to work. * Once you're comfortable with our style, it's common to finish **1–2 videos (or more) per hour.** * As you become faster and more consistent, there are opportunities for more videos and higher pay. We provide the footage, scripts, and everything you need. Your job is simply to edit the videos and upload the finished files. We use Slack to communicate, answer questions, and give feedback. We're looking for people who are dependable, easy to work with, quick to respond, and take pride in doing good work. As we've grown, several editors have moved into larger roles, including reviewing edits and helping train new editors. ## Equipment You'll need: * A reliable computer * Fast internet * The ability to download and upload video files without issues ## About you You should already have experience editing videos. Our workflow is built in **CapCut**, but many of our editors came from Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or other editing software. We're not looking for Hollywood editors. We're looking for people who can follow a proven style, edit efficiently, communicate well, and consistently turn in quality work. Because our videos are dialogue-heavy, strong English skills are important. ## To apply Please send us: * A little about yourself * Examples of short-form videos you've edited * Your cell phone number so we can give you a quick call **No agencies, please. Individual editors only.** Also, please don't send an AI-generated cover letter. We'd rather hear from you in your own words. ## Hiring process First, you'll complete a few paid tutorial videos so you can learn our editing style. After that, we'll send you raw footage to edit on your own without guidance. If everything looks good, we'll send over a contractor agreement and start assigning videos based on your availability. ## One last thing We usually receive a lot of applications whenever we hire, so unfortunately we can't respond to everyone. If we think you'd be a good fit, we'll usually reach out within 1–2 business days. To help us identify people who pay attention to detail, please include the word **Engine** in the subject line. Thanks for taking the time to read this. We look forward to hearing from you!
