Truss-N-Stuff (http://www.trussnstuff.com/ provides professional entertainment technical services for the touring dance convention industry. We're currently hiring skilled Lighting Technicians for our upcoming touring season. If you have a solid understanding of entertainment lighting and are eager to travel 20–25 weekends per season, we'd love to hear from you. Safety of the attendees and guests at our events is of the utmost importance to Truss-N-Stuff. To that end, all employees will be required to pass a background check before being eligible for hire at Truss-N-Stuff. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Oversee setup & breakdown of all lighting elements of event. • Program & Operate lighting console • Supervise and direct local crew under the guidance of the Production Manager • Maintain and troubleshoot lighting equipment, either personally or through service providers • Ensure equipment is safely and efficiently packed for transport to the next city • Assist with loading & unloading of tour trucks at each tour stop • Assist with other departments (staging, video, audio, etc.) on an as-needed basis ________________________________________ Qualifications & Experience • Prior experience with dance conventions or competitions is highly preferred (please highlight this on your resume) • Familiarity with the following is a strong plus: o LED theatrical lighting fixtures (please mention what make/model of fixtures) o GrandMA consoles o Intelligent lighting (please mention what make/model of fixtures) o Repair of cabling, moving lights & LED fixtures • Ability to work long hours and overnight shifts in fast-paced production environments • Willingness to travel extensively and work on tour • US citizenship with a valid US Passport and Canada eligibility. As our tours visit Canada you will be required to secure a passport for travel. ________________________________________ Tour Commitment • Availability for the full duration of the assigned tour is required. Tour prep usually begins in early October and the tour runs the end of October through May, with a final week-long show in late June or early July • Travel to event cities typically occurs Wednesday or Thursday • Events run Friday through Sunday, with setup on Thursday afternoon/evening • Return travel on Monday • You will typically be home part of Monday, all day Tuesday, and part/all of Wednesday depending on the needs of that specific show. In rare instances direct travel from show to show may be required. ________________________________________ Training & Shop Work Before touring, candidates must complete a minimum of 2 weeks of paid training and shop work at our Los Angeles production facility.
